FALLER modelling fibre is excellently suitable for the construction of dimensionally stable types of terrain in diorama and railway modelling due to its high quality fabric structure and hard plaster coating. Due to the quick and particularly firm hardening of the ready to immerse material, you achieve self-supporting terrain shells in no time at all, which also ensure accessibility underneath the surface. Treatment: First, create a skeletal structure of your terrain from polystyrene rigid foam or a fly screen stretched over wood frames. Cut the modelling fibre into suitable strips, briefly dip the fibre strips into warm water and cover the gaps in the terrain so they overlap. Continue with this method until the terrain is completely covered with modelling fibre. Add an additional layer for better bearing strength. Always process the modelling fibre wet in wet. If necessary, moisten dried spots. Setting time: approx. 7-10 minutes. Curing time: approx. 1-2 hours. In conclusion, fill the surface with FALLER roadway and terrain construction knifing filler (art. 180500) and smooth and shape using a sponge or brush.
